Six Sigma Yellow Belt is a professional who has an overall insight into the usage of six sigma techniques. 

Six Sigma Yellow Belt training is mostly one day or maximum two day event. Most of the time, Yellow Belts are executive champions who have attended a one-day overview of Six Sigma and DMAIC. The champions select projects for black belts and their teams to work on company's goals.

Six Sigma Yellow Belt may be a trained executive in the field of six sigma metrics and also in basic improvement methodologies. The Yellow Belt professional must know in a broader sense how to integrate lean and six sigma methods to achieve higher production levels as also transactions at all levels. This helps to meet customer expectations as well as the business objectives.

There does exist even Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification which may be a one or two day program that provides an overall insight into the techniques of Six Sigma, its metrics, and basic improvement methodologies. A Six Sigma Yellow Belt may participate as a core team member or subject matter expert (SME) on a project or projects.
